Prima edizione, molto rara, di questo studio sulla flora di Parma e del Parmense, comprendente le piante vascolari che crescono spontanee e quelle che più comunemente coltivansi tra l'Enza e lo Stirone, il Po ed una linea che dal Castello di Guardasone passa successivamente per le alture dello Sporno di Prinzera e di Pellegrino. Sebbene circoscritta da confini sì angusti rappresenta però la Flora di gran parte della pianura situata alla destra del Po, e dei colli terziarii che la fiancheggiano; e l'uso di essa può quindi estendersi a molto tratto di paese posto fuori del suo dominio (p. III). Alle pp. 361 e sgg. si trovano il dizionario dei termini tecnici, l'indice delle famiglie e dei generi botanici, l'indice degli autori citati e l'errata. Il Passerini (Pieve di Guastalla, 1816-Parma, 1893) fu illustre botanico, micologo ed entomologo, professore all'Università di Parma e direttore dell'Orto Botanico della città emiliana.
