The GOHAI questionnaire was used to assess their oral quality of life. A 200-um-thick articulating paper recorded the number of posterior functional units (PFUs). A particle size analysis of sampled raw carrot masticates provided a D50 value in um for each patient, corresponding to the median particle width. The Qualices 22 software was used to assess their eating behavior before and after treatment. Thus, the GOHAI, PFUs, and D50 were assessed preoperatively and 1 month postoperatively. Nous avons mené une étude pilote sur 16 sujets polycariés âgés de 18 à 65 an…s pour évaluer leur potentiel masticatoire et leur comportement alimentaire. Tous les patients étaient soignés sous anesthésie générale et devaient maitriser le français, avec au moins une carie de stade 3 ou 4 par hémiarcade. Le questionnaire GOHAI a permis d'analyser leur qualité de vie orale. Un papier d'enregistrement de l'articulé d'une épaisseur de 200µm relevait le nombre d'unités fonctionnelles postérieures (UFP). Une analyse granulométrique de mastiquats de carotte crue échantillonnés indiquait pour chaque patient une valeur D50 exprimée en µm correspondant à la largeur médiane des particules. Et le logiciel du Qualices 22 a permis d'apprécier leur comportement alimentaire avant et après traitement. Ainsi le GOHAI, les UFP et le D50 ont été appréciés en pré-opératoire et en post-opératoire 1 mois. Todos los pacientes fueron tratados bajo anestesia general y debían dominar el francés, con al menos una caries en estadio 3 o 4 por semiarco. El cuestionario GOHAI permitió analizar su calidad de vida oral. Un papel de registro de la articulación dental de 200 µm de grosor registraba el número de unidades funcionales posteriores (UFP). Un análisis granulométrico de muestras de masticados de zanahoria cruda indicó para cada paciente un valor D50 expresado en µm correspondiente a la anchura mediana de las partículas. Y el software Qualices 22 permitió evaluar su comportamiento alimentario antes y después del tratamiento. Así, se evaluaron el GOHAI, las UFP y el D50 en el periodo preoperatorio y un mes después de la intervención. Todos los sujetos presentaban un umbral anormalmente superior al D50 normal y solo el 43,7 % mejoró su D50 un mes después de la intervención.

Alle Patienten wurden unter Vollnarkose behandelt und mussten die franzoesische Sprache beherrschen; sie wiesen mindestens eine Karies im Stadium 3 oder 4 pro Halbkiefer auf. Mithilfe des GOHAI-Fragebogens wurde ihre orale Lebensqualitaet analysiert. Ein 200 um dickes Artikulationspapier erfasste die Anzahl der posterioren Funktionseinheiten (PFE). Eine Korngroessenanalyse von Proben roher Karotten, die gekaut wurden, ergab fuer jeden Patienten einen D50-Wert in um, der der mittleren Partikelbreite entsprach. Mithilfe der Software Qualices 22 konnte ihr Essverhalten vor und nach der Behandlung bewertet werden. So wurden der GOHAI, die UFP und der D50 praeoperativ und 1 Monat postoperativ bewertet. Alle Probanden wiesen einen Wert auf, der ungewoehnlich ueber dem normalen D50 lag, und nur 43,7 % verbesserten ihren D50-Wert 1 Monat nach der Operation. This item is printed on demand.
