Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This 19th-century French novel follows the life of Ursule Mirouët, a young woman who lives with her guardian, Dr. Minoret, in the fictional town of Nemours. The doctor, a brilliant physician, is ridiculed by the townspeople due to his unkempt appearance and absent-mindedness, despite his medical prowess. Ursule, on the other hand, is a beautiful and intelligent woman who captures the attention of a young aristocrat, Savinien de Portenduà re. The development of their relationship is the main focus of the novel. The author explores themes of love, class difference, and the nature of happiness through the experiences of Ursule and Savinien. The book provides a rich depiction of provincial French life during the 19th century and offers insights into the social and cultural values of the time. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
