Kultusministerium zur Behandlung des Schahs von Persien nach Teheran entsandt. Nach seiner Rückkehr 1907 übernahm er neben seiner Professur die Leitung der von ihm ins Leben gerufenen Fürsorgestelle, die er auch nach seiner Emeritierung 1923 beibehielt.
