An avid outdoorsman and trapper, Cronk lea…rned the trade from several Maine old-timers, and began producing and selling his own scents in 1963. His deer lures and trapping scents became popular. He was president of the Maine Trappers Association (1964-1978) and a founding member and vice president of the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine. At the age of 77 he shot the mountain lion that is on display in the LL Bean Showroom. After 60 years in business, at the age of 91, Cronk sold his outdoor supply business to Pete Rickard of Galetan, Pennsylvania.

(Virgil Everett) Lynch born in the Ozarks in 1884 and died in Sarcoxie, MO in 1953. "Wildcat" Lynch was a very accomplished trapper and hunter from early in life up to his death. He was also a contributor to many sportsman magazines on different aspects of trapping and the various types of animals he trapped. This book covers much of his life when he lived in Maine and was a good friend of the author. He did write a book in 1928; Thrilling Adventures; Guiding, Trapping, Big Game Hunting from the Rio Grande to the Wilds of Maine, by V. E. Lynch. A clean very presentable copy.
