This is a handsomely bound example of this 1927 edition of the autobiography of Squire Osbaldeston, who was a fine cricketer, rower and sportsman, especially fox hunting, rowing for Eton and Oxford, as well as being a politician and member of parliament, and high Sheriff of Yorkshire. The book is b…ound in half red leather with raised bands and hunting devices of a shooter and pointer, top edge gilded, fitted with decorative marbled endpapers, the binding is in nice condition, internally some occasional foxing, some wrinkling to the paper on the plates, there are a couple of neat paper repairs ( see pictures) else in good general condition.
