Fanny Burney had recorded seeing a match played in Teignmouth in 1773, pre-dating the club by some time.Teignbridge is a district located in Devon, with towns including Buckfastleigh, Dawlish and Teignmouth.Written by George Wareing Ormerod, a geologist by trade who had dwelt in Teignmouth for many decades and wrote various historical writings on the area.Printed privately by the author.Illustrated with a frontispiece photograph of a match played at the club. 1888 hardback.Hardcovers relatively unworn, though the spine is more heavily worn and has accumulate soot. Copies were presented to members of the club in 1889 - this one has the original printed letter from representatives of the author pasted in to fly-leaf. Very good condition.
