Obrecht verdient ferner deshalb besondere Beachtung, weil seine Vorstellung einer ländlichen Versicherung, einer besonderen Kasse für den Kriegsfall verbunden mit einer Art Feuerkasse, ihn als Pionier des Gedankens der Versicherungsanstalten erscheinen läßt. Auch seine Ausführungen zur Bevölkerungsstatistik sind hervorzuheben, da sie zu den ersten statistischen Versuchen in der deutschen Literatur zu zählen sind.
