Contact seller5-star sellerA very interesting artifact owned by Seattle typographer and typesetter, Archie J. Little who was active in the 30's and 40's. Little was active in the printing arts and crafts movement, and would have been well acquainted with Nash's circle and his work. Little's inscription is also intriguing: "Gift to me from Bill Ford? - A.J….H. 1945 (?)" Perhaps this was a preliminary copy, before the work was published in 1937? Roby Wentz in his note states he has no idea why this "word for word copy" would have been produced or circulated. In any event, a nice item with ties to the fine printing and typography circles in California and locally in Seattle. 11x9" mimeod sheets bound in blue cloth boards with gilt lettering, 27pp, rectos only. At rear are bound in several blank pages, the first containing two manuscript entries in pencil and pen. Bookplate of Archie J. Little to front pastedown with his pencil inscription above. Typed note from San Francisco printer and biographer of the Grabhorn Press, Roby Wentz, laid in. Light wear to boards, internally clean with some toning to endpapers.
