Nathan Chytraeus (Menzigen, Palatinat 1543 - Brême, 1598), humaniste, poète et philologue, fit un tour d'Europe en 1565. Lui et son frère aîné David Chytraeus contribuèrent activement au développement de la Réforme en Allemagne du Nord et, par leurs enseignements, au rayonnement de l'Université de Rostock, au bord de la Baltique.
