R. G. Mure, which was told to the author from his daughter Janet. The preface states that she 'says this story is not to be read by anybody who does not believe in Fairies'.Contents include 'A Wood and Fairies: Dull but Quickly Ended', 'His Giant Majesty Receives a Guest', and 'A Tricky Wrestler, But at Last He's Down'd'.Geoffrey Reginald Gilchrist Mure (1893-1979) was a British idealist philosopher, Oxford academic, and children's writer. He wrote a range of academic books on philosophy, particularly Hegel, and two books for children.With an ink inscription to the verso of half-title page which reads, 'Daphne, with love from Aunty Belly + Uncle Ernie. Xmas 1942'.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Minor wear to the extremities and the spine, with light fading and wear to the spine, head and tail of spine, and bands of joints. Internally, firmly bound.
