I furti avvengono sempre di notte e sono accompagnati dal sogno di una creatura mostruosa con i tentacoli che angoscia le vittime. La situazione precipita quando Andrea si risveglia con una strana ferita all'addome che in pochi giorni si infetta e lo uccide. Le indagini iniziano ma non portano a nulla di concreto. Il colpevole non lascia traccia di sé, le porte e le finestre risultano sempre chiuse e non ci sono segni di scasso. Una storia intricata, al limite della realtà incolla il lettore alle pagine, portandolo attraverso il racconto dei vari protagonisti a scoprire chi si cela dietro questi furti. I protagonisti del romanzo indagano se stessi e i loro atteggiamenti verso gli altri, la loro sfera emotiva viene sezionata per mostrare al lettore che il male assoluto, così come il bene, non esistono e le azioni compiute derivano sempre dall'ambiente o dalla situazione in cui si sviluppano. Il dolore, la paura, la voglia di giustizia, i messaggi virali sui social, un giornalismo sensazionalistico, focalizzato al clickbait e rassegnato a una verità che non monetizza, condurranno gli abitanti del paese verso una brutta china. Restano solo domande pesanti. Chi avrà ucciso Giulio? I fiori gialli che infestano Posivretta sono legati alla sua scomparsa? Michele Moro torna a stupire il lettore con un nuovo insolito intreccio. Con uno stile diretto la sua scrittura gioca con l'espediente del giallo per avanzare una critica sociale alle istituzioni, ai media e al ruolo dell'opinione pubblica, troppo spesso fragile e volubile in certi contesti di crisi. Ne viene fuori una storia che denuncia come la manipolazione della realtà amplificata dai social network sia capace di rendere reale la più infima delle immaginazioni. Libro.
