Hardcover. Condition: Good. Seven volumes, complete. Cloth and quarter cloth with paper-covered boards. large 4to., illustrated with numerous color and monochrome illustrations, , line blocks, mounted plates and booklets, facsimiles, type samples, with inserted specimens and extensive type and book reviews. A good set, with significant wear to the covers, soiling and spotting to some prelims as expected. The first four volumes were printed at the Curwen Press, and the last three at the Cambridge University Press. This well used set is from the library of Swiss typographer Max Caflisch, as evidenced by his signature in several places and an invoice in one volume. Many of the articles have been annotated and with words translated by him, in pencil in his attractive, very minute hand. This renowned and influential journal is known for it's superior quality and articles from the most prominent typographers and writers of the day. A sumptuous production that is becoming somewhat difficult to assemble complete. Prospectus is loosely inserted in volume VII. Volumes 1-4 are in archival mylar.
