Rilegato. Condition: new. A cura di C. Costa e Tuymans L.Testo Italiano e Inglese.Milano, 2018; ril., pp. 240, ill. b/n e col., cm 21x28. Hardcover. Illustrated paper/plain card boards; sunflower cloth spine. 127 pp. with color and bw images throughout. Catalogue for the exhibition of April to June 2007. The solo exhibition by Tobias Rehberger (Esslingen, 1966), one of Germany's leading contemporary artists, includes a film and an architectural installation, which have been specially commissioned by Fondazione Prada. Rehberger started working in the early nineties, and attracted international acclaim for various forms of artistic output: sculptures, and industrial and handcrafted objects. The concept of transformation is the pivotal theme of his art, and the experimental focus are processes of perception and of awareness, temporality and the sense of transience, discontinuity and ambiguity, on changes and relationships, as well as on the connections between objects and the reality around them. With "On Otto" the artist deconstructs the filmmaking process by producing a work of art in reverse, starting with the movie poster and ending with the script. Rehberger's aim was not to produce a finished film program, but a walk-through museum installation. A key aspect of the installation will be the involvement of movie stars Kim Basinger, Willem Dafoe, Emmy Rossum, Justin Henry, and Danny DeVito, who will appear in the audience of an empty cinema. The actors assume the role of spectators, while the visitors to the installation peering through portals become the 'stars' on screen. Hardcover. Condition: Gut bis sehr gut. 1. Auflage. B : 120 pages - This instantly collectible exhibition catalogue for German artist Tobias Rehberger's exhibition at Milan's Fondazione Prada includes two brightly colored volumes bound together by four colored, custom-made elastic bands. Once these are pulled from the set, two very independent pieces are revealed. The first is an exhaustive reconstruction of Rehberger's solo exhibitions from 1990 to 2007, reproduced in glossy color, with installation views and details of his architecture-based sculptures and other works. The second volume is a more concise artist's book, including an interview with prominent curator and art historian Germano Celant. In this second, slimmer book, which presents his audacious film and installation project, On Otto (featuring work by Kim Basinger, Willem Dafoe, Danny DeVito, Ennio Morricone and others), Rehberger investigates the dynamics of filmmaking by reconstructing the process itself, going backwards. This book, imaginatively designed by Double Standard, includes texts by Miuccia Prada, Celant and Ina Blom.…
