Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the study of extinct and fossil birds, particularly the Cathartidae family (also known as New World vultures) whose absence in the Old World is a fascinating topic. The author explores the evolutionary history of this distinct group through meticulous examination of fossils. Through the analysis of skeletal remains, the author sheds light on the temporal and geographical distribution of these species. The book also investigates patterns in their extinction and offers insights into the factors that influence their present-day distribution. Through its thorough examination, this book contributes to our understanding of the evolutionary history and the ecological significance of these birds. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
