Disability rights activism and social inclusion movements have played a significant role in establishing strategies for the inclusion of people with disabilities into the wider community. The results CCS gathered from the workshop showed that their service consumers were strongly committed to the value of the organisation and wished to be fully involved, both as participants in the guidance of the CCS Disability Action organisation in its service delivery and in developing its role of advocating for people with disabilities. The concept of allowing the service user population to participate in developing organisational strategies is theorised, from a constructionist perspective, as being critical to increasing the accountability of the organisation towards its users and is conceptualised as a sharing of power that will lead to both change and growth. 160 pp. Englisch.

L'activisme pour les droits des personnes handicapées et les mouvements d'inclusion sociale ont joué un rôle important dans l'établissement de stratégies pour l'inclusion des personnes handicapées dans la communauté au sens large. Les résultats que CCS a recueillis lors de l'atelier ont montré que les consommateurs de ses services étaient fortement attachés à la valeur de l'organisation et souhaitaient être pleinement impliqués, à la fois en tant que participants à l'orientation de l'organisation CCS Disability Action dans sa prestation de services et au développement de son rôle de défense des personnes handicapées. L'idée de permettre à la population d'usagers de participer à l'élaboration de stratégies organisationnelles est considérée, d'un point de vue constructif, comme essentielle pour accroître la responsabilité de l'organisation envers ses usagers et est conçue comme un partage du pouvoir qui conduira à la fois au changement et à la croissance.
