(d.i.? - wahrscheinlich aus dem Umfeld des Amsterdamer Castrum Peregrini-Kreises) an Thomas und Irms (Irmtraut) Ring mit zwei Rilke-Zitaten und auf dem Vortitel handschriftlich das Gedicht "An Melchior Lechter" von Stefan George vom selben, beides in der Stefan George Schrift geschrieben. Die Schauspielerin und Rezitatorin Marguerite Hoffmann (Künstlername Rita Hardegg - 1884-1960) war die Lebensgefährtin Lechters, ihre Freundschaft begann 1919. Der expressionistische Dichter und Maler Th. Ring (1892-1983) war Schüler Emil Orliks und 1919-1925 Mitarbeiter des Berliner "Sturm" um Herwarth Walden. Später wandte er sich der Astrologe zu und fand darin ein Gerüst für ein neu zu formulierendes Welt- und Menschenverständnis. Er versuchte in Folge die überlieferte mittelalterliche Astrologie durch Konfrontation und Synopse mit den Erkenntnissen der modernen Naturwissenschaften, der Tiefenpsychologie, neueren philosophischen Srömungen und der Kunst zu erneuern. In einer Art Metamorphose wollte er die Astrologie dadurch zu einer den ganzen Menschen umfassenden, organischen Wissenschaft (darin dem anthroposophischen Goetheanismus ähnlich) umformen, dies nannte er "revidierte Astrologie". Seine Vorstellungen wurden stark von dem Natur- und Kutlurphilosophen Raoul H. Francé und dem Kunst- und Musiktheoretiker Hans Kayser geprägt, er hörte aber in Berlin u.a. auch Vorlesungen Albert Einsteins und des Philosophen Nicolai Hartmann. Da er als "entarteter Künstler" galt und KPD-Mitglied war, emigrierte er 1932 nach Österreich. Nach dem Anschluß ans Reich wurde er nach einer Hausdurchsuchung verhört, aber zunächst in Ruhe gelassen und auch nicht mit Publikationsverbot belegt. 1943 sollte er eingezogen und nach Norwegen abkommandiert werden. Dies wurde durch eine Intervention Hans Benders verhindert, der erreichte das Ring zum Direktor des Paracelsus-Instituts in Straßburg ernannt wurde. Dort wurde er und seine erste Frau von den Alliierten aufgegriffen und im Lager von Saint Sulpice-la-Pointe interniert, wo seine Frau 1945 verhungerte. Fast sein gesamtes frühes malerisches Werk war vernichtet worden, so daß er sich in den 1950er-Jahren zunächst hauptsächlich seinem astrologischen Lehrwerk zuwandte. Erst nach 1960 überwand er den Verlust und begann ein künstlerisches Spätwerk. I. Ring geb. Bilger (1910-1999) war dessen zweite Frau und ebenfalls Künstlerin.
