Ex-Library copy, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Clean pages and plates with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. Minor thumb-marking present. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Minor splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Minor wear marks to boards. Unclipped jacket. Panels and spine have light edgewear with tears and creases. Price sticker to flap. Moderate tanning and wear marks to flaps, panels and spine.

The Midgley family emigrated to Victoria to farm in 1851. Seven years later the ir cousin Richard Skilbeck also emigrated. In 1861 SArah Midgley and Richard married and Sarah discontinued her diary, however Richard continued his until 1864. Together they give a picture of small farmers and their importance in colonial Victoria. Size: 8vo.
