The slim volume also includes "A Perplexed Biologist", also by Shipley, and "Where Are the Dead?" by the Right Honorable J. M. Robertson. Shipley was a prominent American Freethinker and champion of Science. .Robertson was a Scots journalist, and a prominent Free-Thinker, supporting the 'New Liberalism'. This is Little Blue Book No. 1499, published in 1929 by Haldeman - Julius. It is the First Edition and is now OP. Haldeman - Julius PLACE : Girard , Kansas DATE : (1929) EDITION : First Edition DETAILS : Petite paperback; 1 3/8" x 5"printed wraps, 2 staples ; 62 pages (pagination includes title page); final page is a brief list of publisher's titles. GENERAL LITTLE BLUE BOOK CONDITIONS -- Pocket Series and Little Blue Books were issued using inexpensive materials and thus are almost always found with toned and faded paper. Other small defects such as slightly chipped corners, printer's smudges, and such are common. Any flaws beyond the normal for these will be detailed. Little Blue Books often did not have blue covers - or the blue has faded to gray. Please remember that vintage paper items are more fragile than their modern counterparts, and thus require proper care in handling. CONDITION -- THIS COPY -- GOOD PLUS -- This is a previously owned book that remains clean and presentable. Staples display rust; slight weathering along edges, a bit of dampness left a tide line on the exterior bottom edges, and a hint of this through the interior, else clean with solid binding and unmarked - no writing.
