Dust jacket is intact but has significant tear to right edge front cover and back covers. Now enclosed in dust jacket protector. This book attempts to capture the changing historical mood of the Australian colonial experience. It is not a potted history of Australia, but rather some kind of theory of Australian history, a theory which is not only confirmed by what ordinary people wrote about their experience of Australia in colonial days but also by the way artists looked at the country. Based on the 1967 ABC documentary film.
