Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning and slight wear to extremities (some tearing at fore-edges on some of the opened leaves). Covers are clean and intact overall but have light to moderate rubbing, several scratch marks, slightly bumped corners, and slight fading along spine. Very Good copies. Nos. XIV and XV in The Publications of the Hudson's Bay Record Society series. These volumes contain transcriptions of journals kept by members of the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) when the company expanded inland in the Sasakatchewan from York Fort in the late eighteenth century. Edited by E. E. Rich who was assisted by A. M. Johnson. In the Introduction, Glover provides the historical context and background information relating to the journals. Vol. I contains transcriptions of the journal entries kept at one of HBC's principal trading posts, Cumberland House, from 1775-1779 as well as entries kept at Cumberland's outpost from 1778-1779. Vol. II contains transcriptions of journal entries kept at both Cumberland House and its outpost from 1779-1782. Authors of the original journals include Matthew Cocking and William Tomison Master. Front colophon in each volume: "This copy is No. [blank] of a limited Edition which is issued only to subscribers to the Hudson's Bay Record Society.".
