Black-and-white illustrations showing performance stills and group photos. Partial ballet repertoire (ballets the company performs) with summaries. Four pages of color illustrations in center showing concept art. Some of the advertised products or businesses: Rosemarie, Columbia Concerts, Ciro, Sirocco, and Helena Rubinstein. Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo was founded in 1937 by Rene Blum and Leonide Massine. This ballet company was one of the successors of Ballets Russes which had dissolved after Blum and Wassily de Basil (also known as Colonel W. de Basil) had parted ways. The company was active until 1968 when it became bankrupt.

Das Heft enthält Portraitfotos der Tänzer und Tänzerinnen und zahlreiche teils farbige Bühnenbild- und Kostümentwürfe u.a. von Boris Aronson und Pablo Picasso. - Es finden sich zwei Versionen dieser Ausgabe. Die frühere enthält auf der dritten Seite noch die Portraitfotografie Léonide Massines. Da dieser die Kompanie 1943 jedoch verließ, entfiel diese Seite in der späteren Auflage des Heftes. Hier liegt die spätere Version ohne das Portrait vor. - Exlibris auf der Titelseite. Insgesamt gut erhalten. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 501.

Many B&W photographs of the performers, and color illustrations of some sets in the center; some of these designed by Picasso and by Salvador Dali. The line drawing on the cover is by Matisse. Stapled wraps. Some rubbing along spine edge, and a bi…t of bumping at spine ends. Just a bit of light surface rubbing. Staples somewhat rusty. Else covers clean. Pages clean.
