Add to basketFull-Leather. Condition: Poor. Fifth Edition. Fifth edition of this translation by Louisa A. Marshall published in 1823. Originally published by Hatchard in 1809. Full leather binding with gilt decorations around the edges of the front and rear panels. The top inch of the surface of the spine is missing and there is a quarter-in…ch chip out of the bottom but the title panel is present and it has four raised bands and decorations. The front panel is detached and the boards have some light surface rubbing and some rubbing and fraying to the corners. Marbled endpapers. Gift message dated 1826 on the blank page following the front free endpaper - another name underneath this - Fanny Wale with a date in 1853. The page edges are discoloured and worn but the pages are otherwise generally unmarked.
