Tenzing gets his due in this account of the expedition which succeeded in reaching the summit of Mount Everest. Originally published in France as "La Conquete de L'Everest par Le Sherpa Tensing" literally the conquest of Everest by the Sherpa Tenzing. We sometimes forget that Edmund Hilary did not stand alone on the roof of the world. More than a porter, Tenzing spent a lifetime preparing to conquer the highest peak in the world.
