Runner e biker frequentano i suoi sentieri e le sue strade e sta aumentando la presen…za di stranieri attratti dalla vicinanza della riviera, dai percorsi naturalistici e dalla bellezza del luogo. I ritrovamenti archeologici sul vicino monte Castellaro testimoniano come già nel Neolitico vi fossero insediamenti e commerci nell'alta Valle di Recco. Dai tempi degli antichi Liguri fu un fiorire di storia e storie di vita semplice ma genuina: ai Romani si deve forse il nome Aguxium, da Augustum, volgarizzato in Ausci. Grazie ai maestri orologiai Bisso (1758) e Terrile (1824) Uscio comincia a essere conosciuto in tutta la Liguria e oltre, per gli orologi da torre con i bianchi quadranti, i numeri romani che scandiscono la vita delle comunità e il lavoro dei campi, annunziano le gioie e i lutti, avvisano del pericolo e richiamano alla festa. Questa antica e nobile tradizione fa di Uscio, a pieno titolo, il paese degli orologi, appellativo di cui ancora oggi si fregia grazie alla ditta Roberto Trebino - esportatrice in tutto il mondo e fornitrice del Vaticano - e all'omonimo Museo dell'orologio da torre. Gli Itinerari si sviluppano in un contesto di rivalutazione e riscoperta delle antiche strade che collegavano il paese di Uscio alle cave di ardesia e ai paesi limitrofi. Vie ricche di storia in un ambiente naturalistico impareggiabile. Recentemente riattivati da Uscio Outdoor, i sentieri consentono la pratica di molte discipline come la mtb, l'equitazione, il trekking, il soft hair, la fotografia naturalistica, ed altro ancora.
