Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. FIRST EDITION--The History and Art of Printing, by P. Luckombe, MTA, published in 1771 by W. Adlard and J. Browne, Fleet Street, London. This is, from all indications, a relatively new binding on a rare book that appears to be intact although its age is showing on some of the pages. According to at least one book dealer on the internet, Luckombe had published a similar book a year earlier that was titled "A Concise History of the Origin and Progress of Printing." Fore-edge and bottom of the pages are deckled and the top is cut smoothly. Light brown boards that appear to be leather with a splash of maroon and gilt on the spine. Many illustrations with examples of type faces, other languages, borders and musical scales. One of the photos of the title page shows what looks like a stain in the lower right corner. It is not. It's a shadow created by the photographer. Free shipping in the U.S.…
