He began painting as a young man, while in boarding school, at the age of 22. Not long after his father's death, Ranucci left for Latin America in search of personal exploration and adventure. What was intended to be a brief excursion turned into a 16-year sojourn, immersing himself in the cultures of Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Costa Rica. There, he worked as a sailor, photographer, and hearse driver. This rich life experience illuminated his paintings. In 1959, while working as a journalist, Ranucci interviewed prominent political figures such as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara. In 1963, he returned to Italy to submit to the scrutiny of European art critics. His return brought a series of successful exhibitions in Italy, Germany, France, and England. Filled with a passion for life, Ranucci's paintings demonstrate an understanding and compassion for people. His work is a testament to the immutable rituals of humankind.
