The poetry volumes are based on the John Murray publication of 1831, substantially revised and including many unpublished works. Each volume has the previous owner's signature name and date on the pastedown (ranging from 1898 to 1904). A very good, and scarce limited edition set. Each volume is bound with a navy blue leather spine with blue linen over boards. Gilt titles and decals. Covers have mild rubbing and occasional mark - two white spots to volume 1. The leather on the spines is sunned, resulting in the colour fading to brown in places. All volumes are soundly bound with uncracked hinges and tight binding. The text block is gilt to top edge and the the other 2 edges are uncut as issued on a fine paper stock. text is lovely and clean throughout. Volumes have tissue guarded frontispiece portraits. Each with blue silk ribbon. An attractive and scarce collection. Text in English. Dimensions: Each volume approximately 265mm high x 218mm wide x and typically 50mm deep.
