The interior is clean, with a previous…owner's address label to the top of the front endpaper, and a dime sized stain to the lower portion of the same page, otherwise unmarked. Binding and hinges are solid. An interesting title exploring the nature and effects of opiate addiction, as well as the impacts of World War II and Federal Narcotic Legislation on the social problem. 238 pp., indexed, glossary, bibliography. This book became the basis for Lindesmith's later publication "Addiction and Opiates.".
