Hardcovers bound in 3/4 red morocco and red marbled paper-covered boards. Raised bands on the spines. Top edges gilt. The bindings are worn and bumped. A number of the raised bands are rubbed and scuffed, and dust-stained. Gilt tooling to the compartments one the spines. A few of the hinges are cracking. The front hinge of Vol. I is splitting for about the top 2 inches. Front hinge of Vol. 7 is cracking down the length. Most of the hinges are sound. Marbled endpapers. The text is a little toned but is generally clean. Each volume is numbered 72 of 150 sets. Each volume has an illustrated frontis and a few other full-page illustrations.
