A 4-page brochure measuring 10-3/4 inches high by 7-7/8 inches wide advertising a series of lectures by the Danish writer, stage and film actor Paul Leyssac. The cover is illustrated with a portrait of Leyssac from the chest up, attractively attired in a three-piece suit. The… J.B. Pond Lyceum Bureau's credits are stamped in purple at the bottom of the front cover. A brief descriptive biography of the lecturer and the subjects of his lectures are printed inside with press reviews on the rear cover. The bottom edge of the brochure is creased and slightly chipped. Very good. A translator of the works of Hans Christian Andersen, the Danish writer and actor Paul Andri Jurgensen Leyssac (1881-1946) performed with the Civic Repertory theatrical group headed by Eva Le Gallienne. Leyssac had roles in a few films including "Victoria the Great" in 1937 and "Paris Calling" in 1941.

Paul Leyssac was a well-known stage actor who appeared opposite Ethel Barrymore and Marie Tempest and whose recitals of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf were widely popular. Danish-born and French-accented, he was also an accomplished translator of Danish fairy-tale author Hans Christian Andersen. He also appeared in 7 films of the late 1930's and early 40's.
