NY: Grosset & Dunlap, 1933, 1st. edition, (viii), 238 pp., ads (x). *** This is the photoplay edition that was published in conjunction with the MGM film which appeared on the silver screen in 19…33. Originally a play, this is a novelized edition by Val Lewton. Lionel Barrymore starred as Rasputin, with John Barrymore as the Prince and Ethel Barrymore as the Empress. They ran out of Barrymores, so the rest of the cast had other names. Tipped-in movie biography on the front blank. Purple toned movie stills, all different, are on the front and back end papers. Original color illustrated dust jacket (not price clipped) is in a clear protective cover. This book is in my inventory and the images are of this particular item. *** Bound in purple pictorial cloth and spine. The covers have light wear and soil with one corner bumped. The jacket has soil, some spotting on front panel, with wear and chipping on edges, spine ends (no loss), flap folds, and corners. The contents are clean and complete in a good binding. VG+ in G jacket. *** 8.25 inches tall by 5.75 inches.

Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. This offering is a vintage copy of No Bed of Her Own written by Val Lewton. The book was published by Triangle Books in 1948 and does not appear to be a First Edition . . . just a nice older copy (of a book that Hitler had on a list to be burned) in good + condition. It is NOT an ex-library… copy and is a hardcover edition in good + condition with a front cover color illustration of a woman (assumed to be Rose) drawn by Vincentini - laminated hard cover boards and no dust jacket. It DOES have what looks to be an old "price" of 1.50 on the front cover in the upper left hand corner written in black magic marker (which is not what I paid for the book). Also the top of the spine was beginning to fray a bit so I put tape over it to protect the integrity of the spine. You can hardly tell it's there. The book is 5 3/4" by 7 1/2" and has 237 pages that are beginning to yellow. At this point the book is in nice shape . . . BUT the book is over seventy years old . . . pages begin to yellow and spines can get brittle . . . it's not a book to buy and put in a school library. It's a nice look at a Triangle Book from a time gone by a popular writer and eventual film-producer of horror movies. "A strange, exciting story of a woman's desire for love and security at a time when there is no money to try to buy either." Thank you.
