Vol. 1: "The papyri which from the subject of the present volume were obtained in the… spring of 1902 from the Ptolemaic necropolis of El-Hibeh, partly by purchase, partly from our first excavations at that site, as is recorded in the introduction. Page 5 an explanation of the remarkable fact that some of the literary papyri here edited belong to MSS. of which fragments were published by us in 1897. The papyri were, with one exception (no. 23), derived from mummy-cartonage, and all belong to the third century BC." (Preface). Illustrated with ten lithographic plates of the papyri in volume one, four plates in volume two. Text in Greek and English. Vol. 1: binding with wear along edges, scuffing and small chips, boards rubbed. Library sticker on tail of spine. Library stamps at top and bottom edges, front cover and titlepage.
