A rare survival: a square-format, First Edition hardback from 1937 which, creates the novelty of illusion of movement (Patented), through a 'flicker' action, for four boxing techniques e.g. Left lead to chin; parrying left counter; bringing over right to jaw and lending left to the body. Six Chapters of accompanying text. Of its time, the book is aimed at boys and young men - not for fame and fortune but for playing the game for the game's sake and putting fair play and sportsmanship first. *LEN HARVEY [1907-1976] - Len Harvey was a Cornish boxer. A great defensive boxer, he boxed at every weight division available. He became the light-heavy and heavyweight championship of the British Empire, and was recognised as world light-heavyweight champion in Britain from 193942.
