Looks like its hardly been used or read. Comes with nice yellow coloured, with marble effect, box, slipcase, a couple of wee marks to edge of box. Normal wear and marks apply consistent with use and age. 238 pages all intact, all pages, text and illustrations are in excellent, clean, readable order. printed in Great Britain by Western printing Services Ltd, Bristol on special smooth book wove paper, set in ten point old style no. 2 type, leaded two points with Klang for display. Illustrations printed lithographically by Westerham press Ltd, Kent and Bound by The Pitman Press, Bath using Scholco Brillianta Cloth and printed paper sides. The story of Vicky is based in 1885 on the experiences of the author when she was a child in Simla, a town in the Himalayan foothills when many British went to escape the heat of Southern India. There Vicky meets other children but also Chela who looked after the monkey temple and the monkeys. A good look at the pampered lives of the British in India at the turn of the century. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
