This is one of The War College Series. Brig. Gen. Daniel T. Lasica was the Director of Current Operations, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Headquarters U.S. Ai…r Force, Arlington, Virginia. The directorate is comprised of five divisions and two Field Operating Agencies: the Air Force Flight Standards Agency and the Air Force Operations Group, responsible for policy, guidance and oversight of Air Force current operations in air, space and cyberspace. The directorate provides time-sensitive situational awareness and analysis to Air Force senior leaders and links worldwide operations with core Air Force processes to enable global vigilance, reach and power. Brig. Gen. Lasica received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1994. He has served at the squadron, group, wing, numbered Air Force and Joint Staff levels. He has flown combat missions in support of operations Southern Watch and Enduring Freedom, and has also supported South Korea defense obligations. Prior to his current assignment, Brig. Gen. Lasica was the 9th Air and Space Expeditionary Task Force-Afghanistan Commander, Kabul, Afghanistan. After being promoted, Maj. Gen.
