Putnam's Sons in various formats ("Collector's Federal Edition," "Connoisseur's Federal Edition" and "Constitutional Edition"), then reprinted by Collier. Conditions the same for all unless noted: Blue cloth to barods with gilt lettering to spines and gilt bust of Lincoln on front. Books are tight, square, relatively sharp-cornered and free of major flaws however Volume 1 and Volume 3 have a moderate level of spotting to spines. Each volume has a different frontispiece with titled tissue guard, all near fine. Top edges gilt but somewhat faded. Not the perfect set but more than just readable with interiors clean and sharp.
