Bound in full contemporary vellum with ink…ed title on spine. Fenestella, roman historian, died in 49 BC, was used as a pseudonym by Andrea Dominico Fiocchi (-1452), Florentine jurist and secretary of Pope Eugène IV, for this treatise. First published in Milan under the title: De Romanis potestatibus, sacerdotiis et magistratibus (1477). It was reprinted many times and was at first attributed to Fenestella. Gilles Witt was the first in his 1561-Antwerp edition to link it to the real author. Adams mentions a 1550 edition (Paris) and a 1568 edition (Lyon). Adams F.604 & F.605); NBG 17: 342 & 722.
