Color illustrated, with the originals highlighted with gold, the pictorial frontispiece, select maps and details are throughout are accompanied by a Map Index and Bibliography. Dutch Cartographer JOAN BLAEU (1596-1673) came from a family of influential cartographers, makers of globes and atlases, who were associated with the Dutch East India Company.
