Oswald Kohts (1844-1912), "31. Jan. 1844 in Berent (Westpreussen) geb., ausgebildet in Jena, Königsberg i. Pr. und Berlin, schloss sich besonders an Leyden an, bei welchem er 1870 Assistenzarzt an der Königsberger und 1872 Sekundararzt an der Strassburger Poliklinik wurde. 1874 habilitierte er sich an letztgenannter Univ., wurde 1876 Prof. e. o. und Direktor der Kinderklinik, 1878 Leiter der Univ.-Poliklinik in Strassburg. Von ihm wurden monographisch bearbeitet: Lungengangrän, Echinococcus des Auges, Meningitis spinalis; die Krankheiten des Pharynx und der Nase in Gerhardt's Handbuch.
