Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Step into the Heart of One of the Bible's Most Beloved Stories - Told Through the Eyes of a Young Queen. Have you ever wondered what Esther, a young Jewish orphan, might have felt as she was taken from the life she knew and thrust into the opulence of the Persian palace? How did she find the courage to stand before the king, risking her life to save her people? In The Queen's Diary: Esther's Story, you'll discover the untold struggles, fears, and triumphs of a girl destined to become a queen "for such a time as this." This beautifully crafted retelling of the Book of Esther breathes life into the characters and events of Scripture, making them relatable and real for readers of all ages. You'll walk alongside Hadassah as she navigates the tension between her Jewish identity and her position in a foreign court, wrestles with fear in the face of impossible choices, and ultimately learns to trust in the faithfulness of YHVH (God). What Makes This Book Unique? Each chapter concludes with an engaging activity section designed to help readers reflect on and apply the lessons from Esther's story. These activities encourage deep thought and discussion, making the book perfect for small group studies, family devotionals, or personal reflection. Condition: very good. Leiden: E.J. Brill,1994. Orig. cloth binding. Dustjacket. xii, 260 pp. Index. (Studies of religion in Africa, 9). The spontaneous and rapid growth of indigenous African Christianity, especially in South Africa, has undermined the appropriateness of the term mainline for the traditional, denominational churches in the area. Some of these churches lost more than twenty-five percent of their membership in the period 1980-1990, while membership of the indigenous churches increased by a similar percentage in the same period. The contributions to this volume are based on grassroots research and each one treats some significant aspect within the life and work of this vast, self-motivating movement, a movement largely ignored for over a century by western-oriented Christianity. The work of these researchers clearly indicates how it is that African Indigenous Churches, with their holistic approach to religion - a feature of traditional African religion - serve as such a dynamic vehicle in effectively addressing the needs of their flocks. A further focus of the essays is on issues faced by these churches within their own church context. Condition : very good copy. ISBN 9789004100350. Keywords : .…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Steven Kitshoff, the formidable former Springbok prop, is much loved on field and off for his discipline and determination - and for his humility, honesty and warmth. Now he takes us beyond the bruising scrums and World Cup trophies to reflect on a rugby career defined by an unwavering commitment to what is best for the team. This book charts his journey from schoolboy prodigy in the Western Cape to captaining the Stormers and reaching the pinnacle of international rugby as part of the team that won the World Cup twice in a row under Siya Kolisi's leadership. The big man the fans call 'Kitsie' and the 'Spicy Plum' delves into the magic of the Bomb-Squad strategy, his forced retirement due to a devastating neck injury and finding purpose after rugby. Some of the biggest names in world rugby, including Rassie Erasmus and Tendai 'The Beast' Mtawarira, also give their personal recollections of a man they all admire.…
