Dieser neue Band dokumentiert die Entwicklung von Pontis Werk über sechs Jahrzehnte und ist - beispiellos in Umfang und Format - die bis heute umfassendste Darstellung seiner Arbeit. 136 Projekte sind hier verzeichnet und in hochauflösenden Abbildungen dargestellt. Jedes Objekt erscheint im Originalkontext, in dem Ponti es ursprünglich kreiert hat. Bislang unveröffentlichte Materialien und ungestellte Aufnahmen ermöglichen neue Dialoge zwischen seinen berühmten Meisterwerken sowie weniger bekannten Arbeiten und bieten zudem Einblicke in sein kaum fassbares Leben. Schließlich wurde in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Gio-Ponti-Archiv eine reichhaltige Auswahl von Texten zusammengestellt - darunter ein ausführlicher biografischer Essay von Stefano Casciani -, die intime Einblicke in sein Lebenswerk bieten.
