He had been associated with the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Pictorial companies for nearly forties years, starting as Assistant Advertising Manager on the Daily Mirror in 1926 when the circulation was less than a million. When he retired the circulation was in excess of six million and under his long tenure of Charimanship of the Group had become the largest firm of newspaper publishers in the world; it woned a network of subsidiary papers that stretched from West Africa to Australia and many other interest. In these hihgly personal memoirs Cecil King writes of many aspects of himself, of his upbringing and the life he has led.
