For his involvement in the tragically failed plot of 20 July 1944, Schulenburg was executed on November 10.

An Maximilian Harden mit Dank für die Wiederauffindung eines in Chamonix verloren gegangenenen Briefes mit politischen Anmerkungen für französische Kreise, der aber nicht für den Druck bestimmt gewesen sei. - Nach der Entlassung des Reichskanzlers…von Bülow wurde Kiderlen 1910 zum Leiter des Auswärtigen Amts ernannt. Das von Kiderlen zunächst verfolgte außenpolitische Verständigungskonzept erhielt in der Zweiten Marokkokrise 1911 einen schweren Rückschlag. Das Deutsche Reich musste gegen geringe Territorialgewinne in Westafrika seine Ambitionen in Marokko aufgeben.
