Neben zahlreichen nationalen und internationalen Auszeichnungen erhielt er die Ehrendoktorwürde der Universität Novi Sad, die Ehrenprofessur der University of Science and Technology of China und die Ehrenmitgliedschaft der rumänischen Gesellschaft für Maschinenbauingenieure. Am 21.
