Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. Near Fine. First Edition. xxxii, 368 p. Illustrated. With 8 CDs, all in a slipcase. In very nice condition. A series of recorded conversations with a surprisingly candid Jackie Kennedy about JFK, politics, people in their lives, etc. It was understood at the time of these interviews that they would n…ot be released while she was alive. The book contains the full transcript of what you hear on the CDs. The recording quality is really terrific: the microphones pick up the tinkling of ice in the cocktail glasses and the droning of airplanes going over Jackie's Georgetown house to National Airport. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. This deluxe publication presents Jacqueline Kennedy's 1964 oral-history interviews with Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr., recorded shortly after President Kennedy's assassination and released here for the first time alongside restored audio. Edited and annotated by historian Michael Beschl…oss, with a foreword by Caroline Kennedy, the volume offers an intimate and historically significant portrait of JFK's presidency and private life. The production is notably elegant, with high-quality paper, photographic illustrations, and a matching slipcase housing both the book and the complete 8-CD set - an appealing format for collectors of presidential history and Kennedy. Book is Near Fine, appearing unread with clean pages, sharp corners, and no marks or inscriptions. Dust jacket is Near Fine, unclipped, with only minimal edge wear and no notable flaws. Slipcase is likewise Near Fine, structurally sound. All eight CDs are present and appear clean and well-kept. Overall, a superior, collector-grade example of this complete multimedia issue. First edition confirmed by full number line on copyright page. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994) was First Lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963 and later a prominent editor and cultural figure. Her posthumously released interviews provide one of the most important firsthand accounts of the Kennedy presidency.
