Hinges are fine, page block tight, no names or tears within, pages are clean and tissue guard is present on b/w illustrated frontis and 15 other full page illustrations within (all present). One of two story collections written by Bangs as follow-ups to E.W. Hornung's popular series featuring anti-hero Arthur J. Raffles, a safe cracker. Hornung was the brother-in-law of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and his Raffles series was second only to Sherlock Holmes in popularity during his lifetime.

The 1862 issues were produced throughout 1962. With woodcut illustrations, political cartoons, news, advertisements, features and more. These were reissued weekly during the 100 year anniversary of the Civil War by Living History, Inc. of Shenandoah, Iowa. Each reprint is only distinguished from the original by the existence of 'The Reissue of' above the title on the front cover and a small paragraph on the bottom of page two. Some light age-toning to paper and some with a light horizontal fold [as the issues were mailed folded horizontally but have been stacked and stored flat since receipt]. In Near Fine condition with no tears or chips. Issues appear unopened and unread. The publications were found organized and neatly stacked by date in boxes.
