Enslin. 1855. 8. 3 Bde.) bearbeitet worden ist, vielfach theilnehmende Zustimmung gefunden haben und ich von Männern, deren Wort für mich bestimmend sein durfte, zur weiteren Veröffentlichung meiner hymnologischen Arbeiten aufgefordert worden bin, so fühle ich mich ermuthiget, im Anschluß an die oben gedachte Sammlung das vorliegende Werk der Deffentlichkeit zu übergeben, zu dem ich mich durch langjährige Sammlungen und Studien gerüstet habe. Der Plan des Werkes wird mit Nothwendigkeit bedingt durch den Begriff ber Hymnologie als Wissenschaft.
