Bruxelles Chat qui pêche / Victoria Z.d. (ca. 1949?) (AI-gegenereerde inhoudsbeschrijving).

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Hardcover, 42 x 32 cm, Dutch, condition: Good HET VRIJE WOORD Weekly 1865 1867 Antwerp First volume 1865 issues 1 52 Second volume 1866 issues 53 105 Third volume 1867 issues 1 48 Three volumes bound together, Complete edition Hard cover, 42 x 32 cm, each issue contained 4 pages, the simple amateur binding is broken, the hard cover is complete but worn. Despite the relatively poor condition of this weekly, it is a very valuable document regarding the development of the early Flemish Movement and the support of the Meeting Party in Antwerp. It was an Antwerp, liberal, free-thinking, predominantly Flemish weekly (1865-1867). This political journal supported the Meeting Party and could count on the cooperation of: - Lucien Jottrand - Edward Coremans - Julius de Geyter - Lodewijk Gerrits - F. Caris. The Flemish grievances were central. Besides the Meeting demands, such as the demolition of fortifications and universal suffrage for municipal and provincial administration pending a constitutional revision, the journal also demanded decentralization, expansion of primary education, freedom of the press, and separation of Church and State. On January 5, 1868, the journal was merged with De Vlinder "Weekly for Arts, Letters, and Sciences", which had already appeared weekly from January 20 to December 29, 1867, and also had a liberal and Flemish profile. De Vlinder aimed to stimulate popular education through awareness of its own literary values, striving for cultural exchange between North and South. The publication that appeared after the merger was named Ieders Belang[/i] It continued the Flemish and progressive tradition but survived only for a short time (until April 1868). [This description may have been translated by AI.].
