Lyon, J Gallet, 1894. In-12, 112p. Edition originale répertoriée nulle-part de cette notice dont l'auteur nous est donné par le dos de l'ouvrage et l'ex-dono. Elle est éditée par l'Oeuvre de Moralisation par l'Exemple, qui en est à sa 37e année, mais dont nous ne trouvons quasiment rien. Saussois a publié les mêmes types d'ouvrages sur le comte de Falloux (1886), le cardinal Guibert (1887), le cardinal Donnet (1888), le général-baron Ambert (1890), Alfred Mame (1893). Exemplaire de présent portant en lettres dorées sur la garde moirée : « Hommage très-respectueux de l'auteur le chevalier du Saussois du Jonc à Madame Heine ». Il s'agit peut-être d'Amélie Miltenberger (1832-1915), épouse du banquier Michel Heine qui fut régent de la Banque de France de 1890 à 1904. Plein maroquin rouge, triple filet encadrant les plats, dos à nerfs, fleur de lys aux angles des plats et dans les caissons, tranches dorées, large roulette encadrant les plats, gardes moirées. Papier jauni un peu cassant, quelques petites déchirures sans manque de papier. Rare ouvrage.
